Whether you are a hooping diva or haven't hooped it up since way back when... come to a weekly, monthly or private class. Hoop Empire classes combine exercise, dance and fun into a hoop workout that accommodates all levels of fitness and skill and is suitable for all ages. By learning how to command correctly sized and weighted hoops you can discover areas of your own personal power and creative expression while toning up abs, building core strength and confidence, increasing fitness and bringing joy to your daily life. Whether you are looking for a high-energy workout, circus skills to show off with or something to add to your dance routine, Hoop Empire classes have something for everyone.

MONTHLY BEGINNER WORKSHOPS @ DANCE CENTRAL - Surry Hills

FEBRUARY 13 + MARCH 13

Learn how to hulahoop for fitness, dance and fun. A great way to tone up the abs and discover your rhythm within the magical circle that is the hoop. The ideal class for absolute beginners focusing on foundational on and off body moves including the waist, hips, chest and hands. This full body 2 hour workout includes warm-up, conditioning, stance, saves, turns, moving the hoop up and down the body for booty hooping and chest shimmying, lassos, weaves, an introduction to hoop dance and warm down. No previous experience required. Hoops provided and will be available to order or purchase on the day. Dress – comfortable.

WEEKLY BEGINNER COURSE - SYDNEY COMMUNITY COLLEGES

SUMMER term of our Community College 8 week Course starts FEBRUARY 2010 - Contact your nearest community college to enrol.

These 8 week courses covers the foundations of hybrid hooping including moves both on and off the body; multiple hoops; and hoop dance. A great series of classes for absolute beginners, those with a little hooping history and / or hoopers who are looking for a regular training space within a group environment. Caters to all level of skill and ability. No previous experience required. The classes are both fun and challenging with the goal of putting together a repertoire of tricks by the end of the course to rock out your life with.

The next level Intermediate / Beginner Level 2 course will be held once a week over 6 weeks on Thursday nights at St Johns Hall, 120 Darlinghurst Rd, Darlo starting FEBRUARY 11

* exploring your own personal style

* investigating different genres of hoop practice, i.e meditation, dance, performance

THE HOOP TEACHER JOURNEY - Teacher Training

6 + 7 MARCH 2010

Throughout this two-day teacher training course you will learn the fundamentals of The Hoop Teacher Journey, Hoop Empire's hybrid hooping instructional program. The key elements of this course include hooping for fun, fitness, dance, creativity and therapeutic purposes. You will learn to teach a combination of both circus hula and contemporary hoop dance as well as discover your own individual style that will shape your own classes. The course will include daily warmup and hoop practice, designing course content, practical teaching exercises, troubleshooting, problem solving, discussion and question time.
